Help the Guate Team!
One of the challenges we have this year for our Guatemala trip is to provide the team in Guatemala with quality Bible Study tools in Spanish. Each person is challenged to bring at least one Spanish Bible study tool in their bag (i.e. Bible Dictionary, Commentary, etc). Here is an awesome site to purchase these tools at a discount price. So whether you are a team member or you would like to assist us in building a Bible study library in Guatemala, visit this site

Please order the books in plenty of time to be prepared and packed for the trip. Thanks so much. Your gift will help build the Word of Life Discipleship Training Center in Guatemala!
ShareGuatemala Rattled by 6.0 Earthquake
Check out the video from these street camera’s in Guatemala during this week’s 6.0 magnitude earthquake. It happened just offshore of southern Guatemala. Because of the difference in terrain, the impact was much less than in Haiti. However, you can definitely see it shaking the streets of Guate!
ShareMonday Morning With Moose

Only from the mind of the moose!
Talking with some of you the other day, I couldn’t help but think of how weird the English language is. Everyone I have talked with who has learned English as their second language has commented on the difficulty of learning the rules considering that each rule has so many exceptions!
–
For example:. food, good, and blood, all look the same but try and say them the same and you would be looked at quite strangely. Of you had one mouse and I had two mice, couldn’t you own one house and I two hice? I know that a goose flies with a flock of geese so…and this is very personal, would a moose stay with a flock of meese? A beer or two many beers tend to make a deer look like many…deers? And by the way, could you read the book I read about the little reed whose color was red?
–
Ahh and for a simple well known rule. Did you also know that when you spell, the letter i comes before __ (hint: e) oh but wait there is one exception and that is when it is after “c” and also in the word beige, and cleidoic, and there is codeine of course, and conscience, and deify, and don’t forget deity (BOOM!), deign, dreidel, eider, eight, either, feign, feint, feisty, foreign, forfeit, freight, gleization, gneiss, greige, greisen, heifer, heigh-ho (heigh-ho it’s off to work we go), height, heinous, heir, heist, leitmotiv, neigh, neighbor, neither, peignoir, prescient, rein, science, seiche, seidel, seine, seismic, seize, sheik, soceity, sovereign, surfeit, teiid, veil, vein, weight, weir, weird… you get the point.
–
Anyway… the next time you hear someone from a different background struggling with the confounded English language, stop and remind them that MOST English speaking people have no real grasp on their own language. Don’t believe me? Look at how many mistakes I’ve made in this paragraph alone!!! (or can you tell.)
