ShareMission Red Springs: Amazing Week.
Our last post was about how we have seen God moving before us. It has only become more and more evident as the week has gone on. As usual it is almost impossible to communicate all that we are seeing and hearing here. So I will make this post short and turn it into a request. Please pray for us as we finish out the week. Here are the specifics of what to pray for.
–
Erin, Kate, and Mackenzie – These ladies have been involved with servant evangelism the whole week. They have served in local laundromats sharing the gospel, painting faces, making balloon animals, etc. Today they will be in a daycare ministering to children. The daycare has had a major transition and it has been difficult for the kids. Pray that our girls and their team can be a good partner in helping the transition be smooth
–
John and Kenny – These guys have been serving on a construction team with a project over 35 minutes away. They finished their project a day early which was awesome. The amount of work they completed was SUCH a help. However, pray that they are able to plug in to one of the other teams today to help accomplish yet another task.
–
Chris and Alex – These two served on a painting/construction team that worked on a facility that serves the underprivileged of this community. They split their time between painting and being servant evangelists when people would arrive at the facility. They have shared several stories of how God has moved at their location. Pray for their strength and endurance as the jump into the final day.
–
James, Cody, Tori, and Juliana – This week, these four have been serving in two hispanic communities. Through facepainting, games, balloons, etc. they have built bridges with the children of the area as well as the parents. With several who can communicate in Spanish, the week has been very productive. We have ministered to over 30 people in each community. Today, we are having a special block party in which we are expecting 70-75 people to arrive. Pray as we are committed to sharing the gospel with the entire community at once. Already we have seen two children and one teenager give their lives to Christ!
–
Thanks so much for your prayers! It has been awesome to watch the continued growth in our group. Each one of us has encountered God and seen His hand upon our lives.
We will be home tomorrow!
ShareMission Red Springs:Seeing God Before Us
Early June, we felt the disappointment of realizing that we wouldn’t be in Guatemala this year. We felt concern for our brothers and sisters who were going through so much down there. And then as our plans changed to go to Red Springs, NC, we felt sadness as our team shrank from over 20 to 6. My (Cody) prayer was that as we progressed into this trip, that those who pressed on would see purpose and their faith would be multiplied on this journey.
–
Already today, I have seen that happening.
–
By trip time, our team had risen to 11 members. If you know me, you know the burden God has placed on my heart not only to serve the Lord in Guatemala but to serve the hispanic community in our area as well. Upon arrival here at Red Springs Mission Camp, I was informed that I would be leading a servant evangelism group to two hispanic communities near our location. Not only that but James Homan would be joining me as a leader. He is proficient in Spanish and shares the same burden as I do to. Tori and Juliana will be serving on our team as well.
Please pray for us as we work this week to serve the people of these two areas and show them the love of Christ. My prayer is that it opens a vision in the hearts of our teens and myself as a leader to do something similar at home.
“Thank you Lord for showing me that you have been at work in this place LONG before I knew about it. Thank you for confirming the mission you have for us here. Help us to genuinely reflect your love and grace to the Red Springs Community.”
Wow.
ShareMission Red Springs: Follow Us
We leave this morning. Eleven of us head southeast to Red Springs N.C. to partner with churches from all over to impact this community. Our team will primarily be involved with servant evangelism. Please pray for protection as we carry the good news of Jesus Christ to those who need to hear!
The teams will conduct Bible stories, face painting, water distribution, balloon animals, and other creative techniques to share The Gospel in the park with the patrons. Most of the park will be a multicultural group of people and so the team will need to be sensitive to the culture of those they are witnessing too. One team will serve the community both spiritually and physically through laundry mat ministry by engaging them with The Gospel in word and deed.
Please keep us in prayer as we go. We’ll keep you up to date each day right here!

Guatemala Coffee – $12 bag

Isabel's! $12/bag. Notice the STACK in the back!
Help us raise funds for Guatemala Mission Trips! Ask anyone who has been on one of the Guatemala trips about Guatemala and you’ll hear about “Isabel.” I’m not exactly sure who Isabel was but I’m guessing she made some amazing coffee
. Isabel’s coffee is a team favorite to bring home from our trips to remember Guatemala. Now you can help us go to Guatemala AND have the delicious taste of authentic Guatemala grown and ground coffee in your home. On the most recent trip to Guatemala this fall, Cody Mummau returned with 30 (yes thirty) bags of coffee. With the help of the local missionaries, we obtained these bags of coffee directly from Cafeco (makers of Isabel’s) to help raise funds for our Guatemala Mission trips.
