Quiet Time: John 2:1-12

John 2:1-12

This is a late afternoon post. Just a reminder that if you haven’t set aside some time yet today to read God’s Word, make that appointment now. Even if it is later this evening.  Jesus shows so much in this first sign that he does in the book of John.  See how much you can get out of 12 simple verses… wow.

John 1:43-51

More people are bringing others to Christ. Read today’s quiet time to see an interesting conversation with Philip, Nathanael and Jesus. Interestingly, our own James H. said that with Jesus’ last statement in chapter 1, he could imagine the following song being played as Jesus walked away… funny.

Quiet Time: John 1:29-42

Quiet Time

John 1:29-42

OK classic line. Two of John the Baptist’s disciples turn and begin following Jesus. He turns and says “What do you want?” These guys were sold out and ready to follow Him. Questions of the day are “Who are you following?” and “Who are you pointing others too with your life and words?”

Another great day to investigate past days in your quiet time journals that you missed.  God’s Word is a treasure!

Obadiah 15-21

What a GREAT day to sit with the Bible and spend time reading some of the greatest story ever! Obadiah is a very short book, but definitely not one to be overlooked.  Once you have walked through this passage, look back through your QT journal and read any of the quiet times you have missed so far.

Be safe and have fun in the snow! Officially 8″ in Burlington.

Amos 9:8-15

The return of the Quiet Time post. Something that has been missing for a while. I have definitely noticed a need for it in talking with many of you. Especially after walking through a hard hitting book like Amos! So here is your reminder of our quiet time today. Although I won’t usually post what I’ve written in my QT journal within the post, I’ll encourage all of us to respond to these posts with our thoughts on specific passages… SWEET! Now go get in the Word!

Joshua 24:25-33

We close out the book of Joshua today. I pray that you saw his faithfulness as we progressed through the chapters. As we read of his death, let’s remember his words as He encouraged us to serve God faithfully and reject all that the world’s offers.

Be sure to join us at Loaves and Fishes this morning!

Joshua 24:14-24

“Awesome” is a word that we have completely overused and yet it is the English word that we can best use to describe God. All right, I’ll let Joshua remind you of this as you do your Quiet Time this morning. We join him again as he is giving his farewell to the nation and as the book is closing. Enjoy your time with the Lord today :-) .

Joshua 23:9-16

It might be midweek but don’t slack off on this morning’s Quiet Time. Joshua is giving his farewell address to the nation of Israel. While this was written thousands of years ago, it could be a fresh blog post to the modern church and to you and me and it would apply just the same. Seriously, take a look!

Joshua 23:1-8

Visit with Joshua as an old man and learn what life has taught him.  With an amazing life of walking with God, war, peace, mistakes, defeats, and victories, Joshua imparts his wisdom to Israel and to you today. Be consistent in the Word!

Joshua 21:43 – 22:9

Good morning! I hope you are ready for the week ahead. Be sure to take time to spend alone with God in His Word.  I guess what I would say about today is that we should all think carefully about what we ask God for and tune our heart to his desires for us.  Would love to hear your thoughts on it.
